Description
Speer’s Gold Dot projectiles are engineered with personal protection in mind and are a must-have component for your home-rolled .380 Auto self-defense cartridges. Each bullet weighs at 90 grains which is a standard for the caliber and can be loaded to match many published practice and carry recipes. The bullet’s overall design includes a precisely swaged lead core, permanently bonded copper plating, and a deep hollow cavity with integral skiving. Unlike cheaper plated bullets, the copper on Gold Dots is applied via the Uni-Cor process which yields strong, uniform coating that can stand up to high velocities and won’t separate during entry into a target.

In addition, the bonded copper plating covers the base of the bullet and prevents excess lead from building up in your favorite handgun. Upon impact, the Gold Dot hollow-point will expand, becoming wider than its original .355 inch diameter. The mushroomed bullet will maintain enough momentum and integrity to penetrate deep into threat where its deposited energy has greater chance of stopping the event. Speer Bullets is a sister company to CCI and is well known for their duty and training loads that they produce to fulfill law enforcement contracts. These component .380 ACP projectiles allow reloaders to clone Gold Dot cartridges at a less expensive price or to customize their loads based on personal needs.
