rSteel cases have one advantage: they’re cheaper than brass ones. They are more rigid than the traditional alternative, though, which leads to additional fouling and precludes their use as handloading components. Be sure that you understand this noncorrosive ammo’s cases are steel; their brass plating doesn’t make that fact obvious.
rIf you cut one of these rounds’ 124 grain full metal jacket bullets in half, you will do two things: ruin it, and confirm that it doesn’t contain any steel. It’s the ideal projectile for punching holes through bullseyes and silhouettes. No one in their right mind would want to get hit by an FMJ, although it’s considered less than ideal for personal protection owing to its inability to initiate terminal expansion.
