Each of these cartridges is loaded to +P+ pressure which drives a lightweight 115 grain bonded, hollow-point projectile deep into a target; a high muzzle velocity of 1,300 feet per second ensures that the bullet will reach vital organs instead of stopping prematurely. 115 grains is common for the caliber and provides shooters with a flat, easily learned trajectory.
rWhen the Gold Dot bullet enters a target, its hollow cavity causes the bullet to undergo rapid expansion which yields tumbling while facilitating threat-dropping energy transfer. Speer’s proprietary Uni-Cor process bonds copper plating to each lead bullet that won’t shed or separate while being fired. Other components used to craft these 9mm Luger rounds include clean-igniting boxer primers, low-flash propellant, and reloadable brass casings.
