Description
IMI Systems was founded in 1933 – 15 years before the establishment of the State of Israel itself. Today the state-owned enterprise loads ammo for Israel’s military and police agencies, but there’s more than enough left over for export to other countries. (Although IMI is probably not shipping very much 9mm +P self-defense ammo to Iran.)
rThis is an overpressure cartridge. Its propellant is potent enough to give its 124 grain projectile a muzzle velocity of 1,180 fps out of a 4†barrel, which is ballistic performance we would normally see from a standard pressure round’s 115 grain bullet. Expect stouter recoil accompanied by accelerated wear and tear on your firearm’s moving parts – as well as a more level shot trajectory which terminates in superior transferral of kinetic energy.
rIMI’s di-cut JHP projectile possesses a smooth-feeding jacket. Its nose cavity’s distinctive ridgy rim is designed to unleash terminal expansion that effectively widens the bullet by 1.5 times its original diameter or more! The tip of this bullet wears black paint, although it doesn’t affect ballistic or terminal performance in any significant way.
rThe di-cut JHP is totally nonmagnetic, so you can train with this ammo at any range you like. IMI hasn’t loaded a non-corrosive Boxer primer for several decades, and their high-quality brass cases deliver reliable functionality even after they have been reloaded.
