Description
Range training should do only one thing: make you a better marksman. It shouldn’t have to expose you to aerosolized lead – or put you at high risk of getting bombarded with shrapnel while you’re getting up close and personal with steel targets. That’s what makes Fiocchi’s 9mm frangible ammunition so special!
rThis American-made cartridge’s 100 grain bullet is not a full metal jacket. A frangible bullet lacks a lead core and copper jacket. Instead, it is made entirely out of sintered copper and other metal powders. When a frangible bullet collides with a hard surface, such as a steel target, it instantly disintegrates into dust and fine particles. It is nearly incapable of deflecting injurious shrapnel back at the shooter. It is totally incapable of scattering toxic dust around an indoor range – it’s primers are lead-free as well.
rThis round’s lead-free bullet achieves a high 1,300 fps muzzle velocity. But that’s just because its bullet is so light: it is not overpressure, and it should safely operate any 9mm semi-automatic. Fiocchi loads this ammo with their usual high-quality primers and brass, so you will have the option to handload it.
rTotally up to you if you choose this ammo for home defense. Just know that a frangible bullet can’t undergo terminal expansion, and there’s no guarantee it won’t pass clean through a threat or multiple layers of drywall.
