Description
These 45 ACP cartridges feature aircraft-grade aluminum shell casings. It was CCI who innovated using that metal for cost-effective shell casings, and now both they and Federal are owned by Vista Outdoor. These rounds’ casings are not only significantly less expensive than brass, but less heavy as well — a difference you’ll notice while you’re lugging this case around. Aluminum’s primary drawback is that it’s not reloadable. Whether you don’t reload or don’t intend to, that drawback is negligible!
rThese are range rounds to the core. With their 230 grain bullets they perform similarly to cartridges that are specialized for personal protection, but their non-expanding bullets are more affordable than JHPs. These rounds’ bullets will feed readily in a semi-auto and keep its barrel from quickly fouling with lead. Consistent primers and propellant provide reliable cycling and chamber pressures, and Federal’s aluminum is correctly treated to promote smooth feeding and extraction.
