This round’s 158 grain bullet is lighter than what most people would prefer for deer hunting. Whether it is or not is totally up to you. One thing’s for sure: you plant a semi-jacketed hollow point in a coyote’s ticker, and it ain’t getting back up.
rThis round’s expanding bullet has no steel in it: just copper-zinc alloy and lead. The SJHP’s 1,329 fps muzzle velocity (6†barrel) and 0.184 G1 BC mean it’ll hit 100 yards at a velocity of approximately 1,100 fps, at which rate it would connect with about 425 ft lbs of energy. Of course, a lever-action rifle will only improve those numbers.
