rThe ELD-X owes its extremely low drag to several features. Its boat tail, secant ogive profile, and Heat Shield tip (which is made of polymer that cannot become misshapen as it is broiled by aerodynamic friction) all make its profile sleek as can be. And thanks to its Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket – which exhibits virtually zero runoff or variation in thickness – the ELD-X possesses superior rotational stability as well. Once the ELD-X hits its posted muzzle velocity of 3,150 fps, its 0.409 G1 ballistic coefficient will carry it to 300 yards without following a trajectory that rises more than 4.4†above the bore line (assuming 1.5†sight height).
rThe ELD-X is a tough little bullet thanks to its thick jacket shank, as well as the InterLock ring which mechanically embeds its jacket into its alloyed lead core. Unlike the ELD Match, the ELD-X’s Heat Shield is positioned over a deep nose cavity. Once impact plunges it inside, the tip commences controlled expansion that only becomes deadlier thanks to the ELD-X’s capacity for high weight retention and deep penetration.
