rFiocchi loads their Range Dynamics series 30-30 Win cartridge with Hornady’s deadly as all get out InterLock soft point projectile. The bullet’s jacket is implanted into its one-piece alloyed lead core by its InterLock ring, as well as its cannelure. That combats core/jacket separation to promote effectively deep penetration at high and low velocities alike. The InterLock bullet’s jacket is narrow and notched around its lead tip, which enhances the bullet’s ability to exhibit broad-diameter expansion at lower velocities.
rThis round’s InterLock is a beefy critter: 170 grains, which dampens its muzzle velocity to 2,200 fps. But never fear – its 0.189 G1 ballistic coefficient reflects the InterLock’s ability to follow a satisfactorily flat trajectory and strike with whitetail-topping energy at any point throughout the 30-30’s effective range.
