Description
These lightweight 6.5mm Creedmoor rounds are ready to jump off the line with incredible speed and long-distance capability. Federal constructs this ammo for their American Eagle line using 120-grain open-tip match (OTM) bullets which exhibit keen balance, smooth copper jackets, and accurate performance. This is due to the way OTMs are made, which involves filling a formed copper body with lead for uniform density and drag resistance that won’t be thrown off by errant nicks and burrs.
rThe precise bullet is crimped into a reloadable brass casing which is fitted with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. When struck, the primer sends an igniting flame to a clean-burning powder charge that is measured to launch rounds at a muzzle velocity of 2,900 feet per second (with a 24-inch test barrel). Federal engineers these components to burn completely for more efficient results and less unburned residue left behind in the bore. The 120-grain weight is a staple of the 6.5 Creedmoor caliber that matches plenty of match-grade and hunting options for consistent use with established ballistic tables.
